Description
A simple bungalow amidst olive trees and date palms, herbs and flowers, chickens and goats. This is a perfect place to relax with a book and some (homegrown) lemongrass tea, just a 3 minute stroll from Siwa’s centre.
The bungalow is made of palm fronds, and lined with cotton. It’s simply furnished with a double bed, table, chair, and wardrobe, surrounded by trees. Bathroom and kitchen facilities (with plenty of hot water!) are in the main house – constructed in local “shali style” out of mud. These are shared with Fahmi. Another double room is available in this house, if more guests were joining you.
During hot summer the swimming pool will be ready, meanwhile banter around the fire at night is a great way to keep warm. Guests also have access to the kitchen, where they can cook their own meals. Fahmi is an excellent chef though, and organic food and drinks fresh from the garden are available for a reasonable price.
There can be as much or as little interaction with guests as they prefer. While Fahmi works in the garden during the day, there are plenty of secluded spots to be alone.
Siwa’s hub is a 3-minutes down a sandy road shared with donkey carts. There you will find the ancient Shali fortress, famous Abdu Restaurant, and all manner of eating, shopping, and touring options.
